Rights & Reproductions

If you are interested in reproducing an image of an object in the FIDM Museum, please contact the registrar in the Curator’s Office at 213.623.5821 or . All requests for permission to reproduce an image from the FIDM Museum collection must be submitted in writing. Please include the following information:

  • Artist, title, and accession number (if known) of work
  • Intended use (study/scholarly, lecture, or publication)
  • Information about the publication including medium, title, author, publisher, print run, retail price, etc.
  • If the publication is for profit, or nonprofit

Once your written request is received, the FIDM Museum will make every effort to meet your publication deadline. Upon approval of your request, the Museum will send you a Rights and Reproductions agreement and an invoice. The Rights and Reproduction agreement must be signed and the invoice paid in full before the image is released to you.

How do I obtain permission for other forms of publication?

Anyone wishing to use the Materials from this Site for purposes other than as authorized herein must obtain prior written approval. Permission for such use is granted on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of the Museum. A usage fee may be charged depending on the nature of the proposed use. For all images on the site, and for any text excerpts, contact the registrar in the Curator’s Office at 213.623.5821.
